Grand Raka Homestay

The breakfast was very basic, but the place was clean, the staff were kind, and the location was good.

It’s a quiet, peaceful place with nice scenery along the way to the beach, though the beach is a little far. The staff are helpful and the accommodation is nice overall. Parking is limited, and water pressure upstairs is weak because of a weak pump, especially compared with the first floor.

The staff were genuinely kind, friendly, and accommodating, but the hotel itself was filthy. The sheets were stained, pillow covers were missing and the pillows were disgusting, and there was mold in the bathroom. It badly needs a deep clean and renovation. The family suite’s bathroom has a bucket tub shower. At check-in, we were told the family suite was “being renovated,” but actually they had just overbooked it. We booked three nights and left after two, moving to The Lovina down the street. I want people to know that most of the Grand Raka reviews are over four years old. We stayed last week and were appalled at how much the place had deteriorated. I learned that you get what you pay for. Please don’t stay here.

The hotel is very remote from facilities, though I wouldn’t blame the place for that since Lovina isn’t a tourist spot. You get what you pay for. Apart from the location, everything was okay for me, and the staff were helpful and attentive.
