Allstay Ecotel Yogyakarta

The place had a calm, relaxing feel, and the staff were friendly and ready to help. Our room was spacious, clean, and had everything we needed. We had a great stay, and I'd highly recommend it for couples or families.

The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, and the price makes this one of the better bargains in town. I left Allstay Ecotel Yogyakarta smiling, even though parts of the stay felt a little outdated. It doesn't try to impress, and that steady, comfortable simplicity may be its charm. For me, it wasn't a perfect stay, but it still felt right. My room was compact, though the clever layout, warm lighting, and subtle decor kept it from feeling cramped. The hotel is in Depok, among food stalls, mini-markets, and campus crowds, and felt practical and comfortable for a solo traveler. The price matched what I got, no more and no less. There was a small surprise at the front desk: the polite receptionist asked for a 100,000 rupiah cash deposit. It wasn't a huge amount, barely the cost of a decent meal, but the process seemed old-fashioned in an era of QR codes and e-wallets. I couldn't tell if it was meant to be part of the hotel's charm or if the system simply hadn't been updated. In the evening, the scooter noise faded to a distant hum, and the smell of fried tempeh from nearby stalls drifted in. The place felt calming, familiar, and unhurried, like the Yogyakarta I know. In the morning, though, something felt missing. Check-in and check-out were smooth, and the staff worked efficiently, but I missed the warmth of Jogja hospitality, like a casual chat or a simple “mau dibantu, Mas?” Everything worked well, maybe a little too perfectly. Allstay Ecotel seems to have lost some of the human warmth and slowness that makes Yogyakarta endearing as it follows modern service standards. That feels like a trade-off, not a failure. Like the cash deposit, parts of the experience seem tied to the past, nostalgic perhaps, but slightly out of step with the times.

The rooms are nice, clean, and cozy, and the staff were more helpful than I expected. The location is really good, close to all kinds of places, especially coffee shops.
