It's in a quiet residential area, though a bit far from the tourist center of Yogyakarta. Puri Chorus Hotel has two buildings across the road from each other, about 85 meters apart, and one has a small grocery store for guests. Parking fits cars and motorbikes, and the lobby is cozy with friendly reception staff. The room was roomy for its price, with a comfortable mattress, pillows, bolsters and blankets. There's a long table, hanging cabinets and plenty of drawer space, along with enough electrical outlets for everyday use. The bathroom is spacious and has a hot shower. Bottled water is provided in the room, and there are refill stations in the public areas. The rooms have large windows with practical curtains and enough lighting. The air-conditioning runs quite cool, though with the room's size the temperature may still not feel quite right. Breakfast is available if you book it. I found Puri Chorus Hotel a comfortable, quiet and affordable option for Yogyakarta, with friendly service and useful facilities. It worked well as a relaxed place to stay.

The mosque's loudspeaker is across the road from Puri Chorus, and the first call to prayer starts around 4:35 am. Depending on what you need, that could be a plus or a drawback. The hotel is otherwise handy in a residential neighborhood, with friendly staff, a good shower and decently sized rooms. Breakfast doesn't have much variety, but it does the job.

The towels are grey, and the sheets, pillowcases, bolster covers and bedspread are yellow and stained. They should be replaced. Bolsters would also be good to have.

I got a pleasant surprise with the family room: it had two beds and two floors. It was much bigger than I expected for the affordable price, and very clean and comfortable. I didn't try the food, but I'd recommend staying here.
