La Luna Resort Yogyakarta

The room was clean, and the design and decorations were nicely done, fitting the resort's concept. The staff were friendly and helpful, though I hardly saw anyone around at night to look after the place. Our room opened straight onto the road, and there was no soundproofing at all. You could hear all the traffic, so light sleepers would have a nightmare. The bathroom smelled bad, apparently from the showers. Breakfast was included, but it was just fried rice and crackers. The concept is unique and has appeal, but the service, buildings, and facilities need improvement to make a stay more comfortable.

The rooms were clean and it was a great hotel. Just be aware it's near a mosque, so during the Ramadan holiday it can get pretty loud, especially in a room at the front.

I came for the unusual bohemian look, and they really committed to it. Even the room key is traditionally cute. The staff were helpful and friendly, and the private bathtub was a nice feature for an affordable rate. Cleanliness, mainly in the bathroom, could be better. I found a frog hanging out near the shower. Also, the semi-outdoor bathroom doesn't offer much privacy, since it's not soundproof and sits right next to the next door's semi-outdoor bathroom. Still, I enjoyed spending a night here.

The open-air bathtub in the ethnic-style cottage could be a draw for visitors. It's also well located, fairly close to downtown. The resort could be larger to offer more outdoor space.
