Lokal Hotel & Restaurant

The friendly, helpful staff made my stay even better. Lokal Hotel is small, affordable, and convenient, with a thoughtfully designed building. I loved the plants throughout the space. They make it feel shady and peaceful as soon as you walk in. The restaurant looks great, though I didn't try breakfast. I do hope management keeps up with maintenance, including the TV and bathroom. Still, I had a great experience and would say give it a try.

The food was really good. I had a fried rice dish, and the portion was generous enough. The place feels homey and comfortable, even though it isn't very spacious. Coffee was the one letdown. They didn't have single origin, though maybe that's just me.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and I enjoyed staying on the outskirts of the city for a night. There's a small restaurant next to the hotel with more food choices. The food was average, but service was good and the setting was excellent. The pool was adequate. My room was clean and comfortable, with a spacious feel despite its small size. I liked the artsy decorations and colors, and the interior was very Instagrammable.

If you're after a cozy stay in Jogjakarta, this is a good choice. The hotel and restaurant have a distinctly fancy style, and the rooms and restaurant are priced accordingly. It isn't really a backpacking spot. Enjoy the fancy atmosphere!
