RedDoorz Syariah near UII Jakal

On November 17, 2019, I had a very bad stay at RedDoorz Syariah Near UII II Yogyakarta, even though I'd paid in full through an online booking. I arrived at 12:15 WIB and couldn't find anyone at reception. I saw an employee, Oj*, about 15 minutes later. Staffing at reception and housekeeping really needs improvement, perhaps with more people. I'd traveled all the way from Semarang because my past stays at RedDoorz had been comfortable and the service excellent, so being treated this way was upsetting. At 12:30 WIB, the employee told me the room was still occupied, with guests packing and sleeping there, and that I couldn't enter until 2:00 PM WIB. They suggested I go out first. I was disappointed to be told to leave just after arriving, but agreed to wait about an hour so I could clean up. RedDoorz's check-out time is noon, and I gave them that hour to prepare the room. When I finally checked the neatly made bed, the sheets hadn't been changed. They had what looked like blood, and possibly someone else's semen. I confronted the employee about the marks on sheets that had been made up so neatly. They said there were no clean sheets available because the others weren't dry yet. After waiting over an hour, I felt cheated by such filthy bedding. The bathroom floor was also wet and slippery and hadn't been scrubbed. I said I'd report the situation to RedDoorz. The employee replied, "Go ahead, miss, if you want to report it. You came at 12 and wanted to clean it, but if you want to cancel, it's okay, I'll find another hotel." I was sent away to look for another hotel. I'm extremely disappointed and won't stay at RedDoorz again. This was a terrible experience and showed a lack of customer service. Sorry and thank you.

The building follows Sharia rules and is behind the women's boarding house, so access to the back is restricted and the entrance is elsewhere. The rooms are spacious, but they felt dirty. The hot water didn't work, unlike at other RedDoorz places that provide amenities.

It's very close to the UII campus, and for a backpacker the price is fairly affordable. The place is clean and the room reasonably spacious, with AC and a TV. The en suite bathroom is also quite roomy, though it smells a bit.

The atmosphere is comfortable, and the staff were friendly. The room was clean and fairly large, and the price was cheap. Thanks for the welcome drink. A good fit if you're after a clean, inexpensive room. 👍🏻👍🏻
