The room was spacious and the staff were polite and helpful. I stayed four nights, and the hotel had good facilities, a big lobby, and large pools on the ground floor and rooftop. Jogja City Mall is right next door, with pretty much everything you need, including souvenirs and batik. The rooftop pool was under construction during my stay, though, and the lobby felt hot and uncomfortable because the AC was off except when there was an event in the ballroom. It usually took 20-30 minutes to get to the station or Malioboro.

The hotel connects directly to a mall, so it was easy to grab food or coffee and walk around without going outside. My five-day stay was comfortable, and the room was spacious, the bed comfy, and housekeeping kept it tidy. Staff were friendly and helpful, too. There are two pools, including one on the rooftop, plus meeting rooms, a ballroom, and a billiard table. Breakfast was decent, nothing amazing, but enough to start the day. The location was handy for places to eat and transport. Parking took some figuring out since it shares the mall lot, and it sometimes took me a while to find my car. The hotel itself was clean and well maintained. I'd consider coming back.

For the best view of Merapi Mountain, get a room on a high floor. The hotel is by the north ring road, which makes it a good transit stop during peak season if you want to avoid city traffic. Being in a mall means food is easy to find. The room details could use some improvement.

The classic architecture gives the hotel potential, and the location may be convenient, but the place felt neglected. My room smelled musty, and it could have been cleaner. The walls and furniture looked worn, and some facilities seemed dated. It was a disappointing stay. With proper care and renovation, it could be charming.
