The roof terrace is a great spot, with a bar and lighter things like burgers. The pool and gym are nice too, and my room was really nice. You can pay with either cash or card. Check Agoda for rates, since it was much cheaper than booking straight through the hotel, though the hotel did match Agoda's price.

The rooftop bar was a lovely place to catch the sunset, and the bartender can suggest a cocktail. Lunch and dinner were both delicious. The pastries and bread were the standout, each of the three kinds left in our room was absolutely delicious. The rooms were clean and nicely equipped, and the pool and gym were both very nice. It's a comfortable, clean place for a layover. I'd put it at about 3.5 stars, so rounded up.

The BBQ dinner was great, and the rooftop food is SOOO much better than what we had in the restaurant. Communication with staff was better too. The restaurant lunch and dinner were below average, and one dish was inedible. Breakfast was okay, the rooms were clean, and the staff were wonderful. This was our second group stay at Aston and our fourth time in Sorong. I had left a one-star review on TripAdvisor and felt it was justified. Drinking water isn't readily available, and there are surprise charges for things like early check-in, even when rooms are available, and massages. The hotel isn't by the ocean or RAJA AMPAT, although the ads seem to suggest that. The local tour we arranged at the front desk was a terrible experience. For an international hotel, they need more English-speaking staff, a wider menu, more drinking water, clearer pricing and more flexibility around rooms and availability. Other places we've stayed in Sorong and around Indonesia offered those things. Aston is fairly new, but its services need some improvement.

The rooftop restaurant and bar are amazing, and the pool is beautiful. Breakfast had a wide selection of high-quality food. The rooms are small but very clean, quiet inside and well temperature controlled. Our room telephone was broken, so we couldn't call reception or room service. It's a proper four-star hotel right across from the airport, and the few flights mean noise isn't a concern. Check-in was chaotic: they gave us two single beds instead of a queen and couldn't change the room or push the beds together. Our luggage also took 20 minutes to reach the room.
