Floating Leaf Eco-Luxury Retreat

I came away thinking the staff were the best part. They were so kind and thoughtful, and went way out of their way for me, more than anywhere else I’ve travelled. The spa is amazing and dangerously addictive! I had a great Balinese massage with Dian. I only tried massages, but the other options include manicures, pedicures, facials, hair treatments, and more. The food was so good and healthy. I liked having Western dishes for when I was homesick or not feeling well, as well as Balinese food. They even sell cookbooks. The resort itself is gorgeous, clean, open, and airy, with a lovely yoga studio on the top floor looking out over nearby rice fields. I can’t recommend it highly enough. It was incredible!

The food and service were outstanding, and I still had a wonderful stay. I was a little disappointed, though, to be in one of the older rooms rather than one of the luxury rooms, even though I paid the same amount. Mine didn’t overlook the pool and needed repairs: the door frame was coming off, the washroom floor tiles were stained, the toiletry containers were old and worn, and there were no bedside lights.

The people at Bali Leaf made a deep impression on us. My mother and I came for the 3 DayTransformational Retreat, and the stay felt like home. Ms Putu Maryam and her staff were kind and caring, and made us feel supported. When my mother felt sick and anxious, they went out of their way to get her medication, then declined payment. Mr Gus Awan said he would look after her if she couldn’t join me at the water purification temple. Mr Gede helped her with the deep, slippery steps into the water. The staff even brought towels and plastic bags for the purification, details we hadn’t thought of. Mr Kadek was attentive too, fetching a cushion when he noticed I was on the hammock without one. He served food, drove us, and greeted us with a warm smile. They touched our hearts. The room and surroundings were beautiful, with a gorgeous view. The meals were nutritious and came in portions so big we couldn’t finish them. We also had the best Balinese massage we’ve ever experienced. The therapists put us at ease and seemed to work every muscle. It felt like an authentic Balinese massage on a whole new level. My mother loved meeting the Balinese healer. I loved the singing bowl nadi cleansing session with Ms Putu. She was humble, kind, and empathetic, and the vibrations brought a feeling of healing and release that helped me on my spiritual journey. Every day brought a new culinary surprise, at breakfast, lunch, or dinner. The food was superb, and I’ll remember both how delicious it was and how beautifully it was presented. Our rooms were outstanding and comfortable, and the staff were friendly, courteous, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to talk with. I can’t say enough good things about staying at Floating Leaf Eco-Luxury Retreat. If you visit Bali with a group, book a room or rooms here. You won’t be disappointed.
