Kacu guest house

Breakfast was supposed to be included according to the booking app, but when I checked in, the owner said that was an error and it would cost extra. I contacted booking, and they apologized and said they would investigate. To me, that made the breakfast offer feel like a scam. This was one of the worst homestays I’ve stayed in during more than five months of budget travel. The sheets were dirty, the room moldy, and the shower and toilet awkward. There was no kettle, cup or even water. Worst of all, dogs barked and birds made noise outside all night without stopping for even a second. I wouldn’t stay again even for free. You can find much better for the same price on Agoda or booking.

At Kacu Guest House, a double room for two costs just 6 $ USD per night, and you can eat at the restaurant right at the house. Kacu and his family are so welcoming that it’s hard not to enjoy your stay. He runs the place with the guest’s needs first, which is why his business has done so well. I wish hotels everywhere would take a lesson from Kacu. A trip to Indonesia doesn’t feel complete without staying here. Thank you, Kacu! 😃🏆

The bathroom was dirty, the room was moldy, and there wasn’t any soap or towels. The photos make the place look far better than it is. I also wasn’t given the room I booked: staff said it was already occupied. Ehm, what? Look somewhere else if you can.

Putu’s family made the place feel more like a friend’s home than a hostel or hotel. They were kind and accommodating, and the room was great, with breakfast included. It’s in a great location, and they have the cutest, friendliest dog in all of Bali. Scooter rental was great too.
