Waking up to sunrise over green fields was lovely, and the quiet setting made for a really peaceful rest. Geswin and Onie have created a lush, serene place with beautiful plants, a water feature, and well designed, high quality bungalows. They’re incredibly thoughtful and kind, and I can’t say enough about their hospitality. Breakfast, which they cook themselves, was delicious and healthy.

Breakfast was excellent, and the warung served delicious, healthy lunches and dinners, plus the best hot jamu. I’d absolutely recommend a stay here, and would give it 10 stars if I could. Kubu Jamu Guesthouse is tucked among rice paddies just outside Ubud. Made and Onie have thought of everything in the new, clean, cozy, romantic bungalow. At night, we listened to crickets beneath the stars, with fireflies flickering around. From bed in the morning, we could watch the sun rise over the fields.

The owners are so friendly, and Onie makes great Indonesian food. It’s only about 10 minutes from Ubud, with a cool breeze throughout the day. The timber cottage is beautiful, with a lovely verandah facing the rice paddies.
