Komaneka at Monkey Forest

Yoga overlooking the rice fields was a highlight. Monkeys occasionally watched quietly, which felt very “Ubud”. The hotel is peaceful despite being centrally located, and the traditional Balinese decor is tasteful. Breakfast was delicious, and the service was consistently warm and polite. Ms Ade, the manager, deserves a special mention. She’s a wonderful host and makes guests feel genuinely welcome.

Everything’s within a 10-minute walk, right in the middle of Ubud. The staff took such great care of us, and I loved the towels, so fluffy and clean.

My father and I stayed at Komaneka at Monkey Forest in February, 2026. The staff really personalized our stay. They learned our names and even wrote them in the foam on our morning coffees. The location worked perfectly for walking. The Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary is down the street, while Ubud Palace and the nightlife are up the street. I also visited the Komaneka Fine Art Gallery and loved Chang Fee Ming’s watercolor paintings.

Ade greeted us whenever we came or went, and was such a warm, kind person. We felt right at home. The hotel grounds are gorgeous, the food was delicious, and our room was spacious and perfectly clean. Thank you, Ade and the rest of the Komaneka team, for going above and beyond. We needed somewhere at the last minute after problems with the AC at our previous booking left us in a very small room on our honeymoon. Komaneka found us a room right away, and we saved quite a bit by booking directly over the phone. They were ready to welcome us immediately. Once they heard it was our honeymoon, they filled the bath with rose petals, brought us an adorable, delicious cake, and decorated the bed beautifully with palm pieces.
