Kori Bali Inn I

Very inexpensive lodging, with clean rooms, a good breakfast, fairly quiet surroundings, and very friendly staff. One thing to know: as of the date I wrote this, Kori Bali was marked in the wrong place on Maps. It was actually on the west side of the walkway, closer to Okawati's. Update: they moved, so check the new building location.

I felt they were very disrespectful of my time. They confirmed my booking by text at noon, but when I reached Kori Bali at 1 pm, nobody was at reception. I waited an hour, went out to eat, then came back and still found no one. After waiting again, I looked around and found a note with a phone number. When I called, they told me to cancel because my room wasn't available. It was already 5 pm, and finding another place took me until around 5 or 6, when everything was booked. They said the room had a leak and had gotten wet in the rain the night before, but it hadn't rained. They also claimed they'd been trying to fix it, which didn't seem true since I'd been waiting there for at least two hours and no one was around, apart from a guest leaving. Why hadn't they told me earlier that the room wasn't available? Confirming my reservation and then leaving me to wait without any notice was irresponsible.

I stayed here in 2015, and it’s still one of my favorite places I’ve stayed. The room was big, and breakfast was served on the terrace in front of it. The place was really nice, quiet, and clean, and the staff were super friendly and helpful. If I’m ever lucky enough to return to Ubud, I’ll look for this place again. Thanks!

It feels like a little hidden village within busy Ubud. From the top floor, you get the feeling of being up in a rainforest canopy. The place was clean and comfortable, though the fixtures were so-so and a few bugs got in. I enjoyed my stay.
