I ended up leaving because the noise was too much. It’s on a busy street, with clubs and bars nearby, and the music went on for hours. The bathrooms were rough too, though the location was great and the staff were fantastic. I don’t want to slate the place. I paid nine pounds for one night after booking last minute, which helped. The air con worked fine, but there’s no TV or other extras you might expect, not even a bottle of water. There are plenty of shops nearby if you need something. It did at least keep me dry during rainy season.

The street noise was probably the worst part. Music, bars, people talking, scooter klaxons, it went on until 1-2 am. The location is great, right in central Ubud beside the art market, but the bathroom was a disaster and needs repair before more customers stay there. The shower was either scalding or cold, with no in-between, mold all over and in the shower head, and barely any water pressure, just a few drips. Breakfast was cheap and at least available, but when I got bali belly and a fever and couldn’t get up before 10h, the owner said I was too late for breakfast and didn’t understand my condition. It was only sandwich bread, one egg, and a few fruit slices. The next day we asked for double breakfast since we’d missed the day before, but she just brought the usual. There wasn’t any real effort for customers.

The location lets you walk around the heart of town, and the property is on traditional housing land, but the room conditions were awful. The first room we got was full of mold, and the bathroom ceiling looked like it might fall soon. I asked to move, but the second room wasn’t much better, with most of the mold in its bathroom. The shower felt disgusting, the towels stank, and the water was only cold. The bed linen was dirty, with hair and stains. It’s by the street and far too loud to sleep. The window had no glass, just a plastic curtain, so there was terrible sound isolation. This place needs to fix its building and hygiene problems. Even 18 dollars a night wouldn’t justify the lack of cleanliness and comfort. We wouldn’t recommend staying here.

The location was excellent, and the staff were friendly. My room was fine and the A/C was great, but the bathroom was pretty awful and urgently needs redoing. It was a good stay overall.

Right on Main Street in the heart of Ubud, this place is very convenient. Ubud palace, Ubud market, and Saraswati temple are just a few steps away. We had a good vegetarian Balinese breakfast here, and the room was good enough for the price. They helped us rent a bike and arranged a Mt. Batur tour with hot spring at reasonable rates. Good value.
