Airy Eco Syariah Kertomenanggal Sembilan 18 Surabaya

I used to feel comfortable coming here because the regular receptionist, a skinny guy, would wait for me when I went out at night and came back, without me needing to knock. He'd sometimes bring me coffee or food while he went out to find something to eat, and we'd chat. I even got free coffee. Now the staff have changed, and the new one is rude. The place also wasn't clean: there was lots of rubbish under the bed, dirt in the toilet bowl, and a clogged sink. I don't feel comfortable staying here anymore and wouldn't recommend it.

The place is a long way from outside the city. I booked through the Oyo app, but when I arrived the price was different. They said they no longer work with the app, so you can book there, but you'll have to pay an extra fee.

At IDR 140,000 a day, the standard room is clean and comfortable, with working AC and a full selection of local TV channels. The bathroom is basic but adequate, and the service is good. Kertomenangggal Sharia Homestay is near the Muhammadiyah Mosque, and there's a prayer room and a Quran on site. You'll need to leave either an IDR 100,000 deposit or your ID card. The Wi-Fi doesn't reach every part of the homestay, and the towels are worn and should be replaced.
