The only room feature I really liked was Google Assistant, which was convenient. Otherwise, the stay at this property left me unsatisfied. I chose it because it’s managed by Archipelago, but it didn’t meet my expectations. For a well-known chain, I expected better maintenance and room quality. The price seemed fair, and check-in went smoothly; the staff were friendly, so the first impression was good. I was assigned room 336 for three days and two nights, in a corner far from the elevator. I considered asking to move but didn’t have the energy to complain, so I stayed there. The air conditioning was on when I arrived, but even at 17°C for two days it never cooled the room, which stayed warm. The hairdryer didn’t work. Engineering replaced it, but the replacement also didn’t work properly. There was no bathmat on the first day either; I got one only after asking for room makeup on day two. Management needs to improve maintenance.

The security staff were especially friendly and genuinely helpful to guests with disabilities, and the hotel grounds were quite clean. My room felt a little cramped, with a narrow hallway and a huge bed, though it did have a cute balcony for morning air. You can catch a bit of a smell from the outdoor AC units there. After I showered, water flooded the bathroom floor and wouldn’t drain. I messaged them on WA, and it took about an hour for someone to come. Once there, the staff handled the problem well and fixed it. My Caesar salad also took an hour to arrive, so service could be quicker. It tasted pretty good, though. Decent stay in Surabaya, even with those issues.

Mrs. Arum deserves a special mention for her warm, professional help, which made my visit even more enjoyable. The other staff were very helpful too. Aston Inn Jemursari was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, with a pleasant atmosphere. I had a memorable stay and would happily return. I recommend it.

Breakfast had lots of options and richly seasoned food, almost like ordering à la carte. The room was neat, clean, and smelled great when I came in. Service was very good and the staff were friendly. I’d recommend staying here.
