I rented four rooms after seeing decent photos when I searched online. But when we got there, the floors in all the rooms were broken, and every room smelled musty from the humidity. I wanted to upgrade, but everything was sold out. There were bugs in two rooms. I told the operator, and she apologized, but nothing was done. The hotel overpromises, yet the rooms are always sold out.

The food, service, and staff hospitality are still things I like, and this used to be my favorite hotel for business trips to Surabaya. I stayed more than four times between January and March this year, for over three nights each visit. I used to love everything, from the bedroom to the breakfast menu. Now it doesn't feel like a star hotel to me anymore. A lot of things look old and neglected, and I once got a room where the AC leaked onto the floor. Please repair the broken, scratched floors and walls, fix the leaking AC, and replace the corroded water taps.

Once you're in the room, it's clear the building is old. Still, you get what you pay for.

We'd stayed in cheaper hotel-apartments in Bandung that were much cleaner and more presentable. Here, the large room felt quite worn. The bed linen looked off, with white fabric that had turned grayish. The towels were grayish too and smelled bad, and the old sofa had a cigarette burn in it 😬. This place is part of a low-budget apartment, so the pool is shared between hotel guests and tenants. My husband had booked in a hurry because we were tired and it was nearly dinner, without reading the reviews on ticket.com. He was drawn by the pool our daughter wanted. The room really needs refreshing. Room service food is too expensive for a low-budget hotel, and the restaurant food wasn't great, though we found it acceptable. Children over three have to pay 50k extra if both parents take the free breakfast. It didn't seem worth it, so my husband skipped breakfast with us.
