OYO 204 Blessing Residence

The service was superb, and the room was adequate. I liked the location for its quiet gated community feel. I stayed almost two weeks, and my only complaint was other guests sometimes talking too loudly for too long. A quick chat with family or friends after checking in is fine, but voices carry loudly down the hallways, and some people didn’t seem to notice.

I had a terrible stay experience with OYO 204 Blessing Residence, which was listed on Booking.com. The building was still there, but it looked haunted and abandoned, and there was no OYO logo on the front. It didn’t seem to be affiliated with OYO anymore, even though its name was still being used. The staff admitted they were no longer part of the OYO brand and said my listing wasn’t valid. When I arrived, reception offered the same room I had booked for three times the price. They said they had called the call center to help, but nothing came of it. Booking directly at their inflated rate was the only option they gave me. The staff were unprofessional and didn’t speak English. All I got was “sorry, sorry,” with no solution or help. The area was eerie and isolated, over an hour’s drive from the city center, with no shops, restaurants, or anything nearby. I also saw multiple Booking.com listings, “OYO Blessing Residence” and “Urbanview Blessing Residences by RedDoorz,” using the same photos at different prices. It seemed like a deliberate way to attract guests with a low rate and then overcharge them on arrival. I want to warn people away from these properties. The whole experience was a nightmare, with an abandoned-looking building, unhelpful and unprofessional staff, and a creepy, isolated location. Avoid booking here at all costs.

The Airy Room, which connects to Blessing Kost, was really good and had a distinctive design. I didn’t stay at the kost itself. The air conditioner wasn’t very cool, so I had to turn on the fan, and the place is in Citraland, far from the city. It was 320.000 IDR per night, not too pricey, but for that amount I’d rather stay at a three star hotel.

The room concept is cute and very Instagramable, and the rate is very cheap. But while I was staying here I saw lots of ants in the room, and worst of all, even tomcats. Owner, please deal with the insects in your wisma.
