I ended up returning to Surabaya and stayed here for two extra nights after planning just one. It’s handy for catching a train, about a 10-15 minute walk from the station. The receptionist was really nice and helpful, the room was perfect, and the king-size bed was huge. The shower was nice too, and the Wi-Fi was OK.

By 8 pm there was still a queue, and we heard a system error had left the hotel fully booked. Some guests couldn’t stay, and the hotel offered unilateral refunds within a week. Earlier, the check-in had already been a mess: the line at reception kept growing from 2 o’clock, and although we showed our ID cards and completed registration, getting our keys took ages. Staff only vaguely said the rooms weren’t ready. The keys finally came at 3:30 pm, with a small consolation of sweet iced tea, but the key we received didn’t work and housekeeping had to help. All that inefficiency cast a shadow over the stay. From my firsthand experience, I can’t recommend this hotel because of its poorly managed operations and the dissatisfaction among guests.
