Petit Boutique Hotel

The location was a big highlight for us. Right in central Surakarta, it made exploring on foot easy. Pasar Gedhe, Pasar Klewer, Kraton Surakarta, Alun-Alun Lor Surakarta, Slamet Riyadi Rd., Gd. Djoeang 45, Surakarta Cityhall, Fort Vastenburg, Galabo Night Culinary, Pusat Grosir Solo, and plenty of food spots were all within 2 km. We wanted to see as much of the city as we could, so being able to walk to so many places was a huge plus. I’d give the location 10 stars if I could. The hotel has two floors, with most rooms upstairs. There’s no elevator or stairs, but there is a ramp, which makes it accessible for wheelchairs and handy for carrying suitcases. Our room was a little small, as the name suggests, but it was fine for one person or a pair of friends. The bathroom was decent, with a bidet and a shower with very good water pressure. The bedding was decent too. It could feel cramped, but the twin beds were arranged with enough room to pray, which was useful for us as Muslims. Staff cleaned the room and changed the sheets, blankets, and towels daily. You can put up a 'do not disturb' sign if you'd rather they didn't come in while you're out. There’s also room service through Gelatoku at Gd. Djoeang 45, right beside the hotel, and they can bring orders to your door. We were short on time and didn’t get to try it. We’d stay here again, and recommend it especially to solo travelers and couples.

Finding dinner took a little effort, but it was walkable. From the hotel, turn right, keep going, then left, right, left, and right again, lol. The front office ladies were friendly, and the amenities and cleanliness were okay. I was satisfied with my stay, as long as you don't expect a fancy place. It’s a boutique hotel.

The location is probably the strongest point. Petit Boutique Hotel sits right in the city, close to tourist spots, restaurants, and shops. Check-in was quick and easy, and the small hotel has a cozy, distinctive feel. My room was very compact but clean. There was a slightly strange smell when I first walked in, though it wasn't a big problem. The bathroom was narrow and tiny, nothing special either way. Basic items like toothbrushes were provided. The AC worked well, and the WiFi was steady and fast, so the room was comfortable enough to use. Noise was the main drawback. I could hear nearly everything from the corridor and neighboring rooms, which made it hard to relax. If noise bothers you, that could be a dealbreaker. My second-floor room also had a window facing the road, so it didn't feel very private. I couldn't really leave the curtains or window open during the day. For a short stay, it’s a decent option if you want an affordable place in a great spot. The room is small, and you may need earplugs to manage the noise.

We had a great stay and would recommend the hotel to people visiting Solo. The staff were friendly and helpful, and food vendors were all around the strategic location. Our room was small, but clean.
