Rumah Turi Eco Hotel

I changed hotels and asked for a refund, but the owner didn’t give me one. For only 200k more, I’m now at a five-star hotel with five-star service, a huge breakfast buffet, a large bathroom, and a working shower. There’s even a dressing room, a lovely rooftop pool serving free afternoon tea, a spa, and a fitness room. Think twice before booking this place. If there were a zero-star rating, that’s what I’d give it. This isn’t a Boutique Resort. The owner’s description was full of lies. It’s a very old property in a poor neighborhood, and the floor from the parking area into the so-called hotel is extremely slippery from moss. The downstairs rooms are very dark and smell of mold. There’s a window at the back facing a wall that looks moldy and green, and the window is the same. That’s the “view” the owner describes. They sell these as deluxe rooms because of the terrace, which is really a dark passageway and room entrance, like an open corridor facing an overgrown garden. The upstairs rooms have windows that open, but they look toward the downstairs wall, the water tank, and the AC unit right in front of them. Those make noise all night, along with the view mentioned in the hotel description. The room walls are moldy and the paint is peeling. The shower head is clogged with limescale, so only drops of water come through. The whole place needs proper renovation and cleaning.

The green plants were a treat for my eyes, and I really loved the ambience. It’s a peaceful, comfortable place right in the center of Surakarta city, and worth every penny. The host and service were friendly, and I found it all too easy to fall in love with the place. The eco-friendly idea is nice too, with used water going to water the plants 🌿 The room was roomy enough, and the water heater and air conditioner worked well. Rumah Turi is only five minutes away, and Paragon and a pharmacy are nearby 👍🏼

The greenery around every room and throughout the hotel is thoughtfully done, making the place blend beautifully with nature. The down lights also make it feel relaxing, like you’re not meant to work. I was lucky to get a room near the fountain, whose sound was calming at night. The room was larger than most in the same price range. I had an issue with the AC, but the staff responded quickly and got it fixed in a short time. The location is great: the hotel is in a housing complex and may not look like a hotel at first glance. The biggest mall in solo is to the right, and the local traditional eatery “wedangan pendopo” is to the left.

The staff were awesome. The room was elegant, with a clean, comfortable bed, and the green inner courtyard was beautiful. There’s wood everywhere.
