I’m honestly sad about how this stay went. My family and I couldn’t sleep in the bed until 1 a.m., so I bought Baygon through Grab. That brought out all the cockroaches, and my child cried and wouldn’t sleep on the bed. We checked out this morning and moved to another hotel, losing the two nonrefundable nights I’d booked through Agoda. I hope the owner takes responsibility and that service improves before I come back to vacation here next year. I’m giving one star in that hope. This was my fourth stay, and I chose the family room because it’s near where we needed to be. I booked two nights and couldn’t cancel, so I hoped the remaining day in room 303 would be better. On check-in, they first put us in room 203. The AC was cold, but the bathroom was dirty, especially the brown toilet, which had a lot of sand in it. When I told the man downstairs, he said it wasn’t his job and he’d tell the person in charge. They moved us to room 208, but it smelled musty, as if it hadn’t been used in a month. There was dust on the floor and the toilet was brown. I was also given keys to 303 and 308. Room 308 smelled just like 208. Room 303’s bathroom was fairly clean, but the bed was full of ants, and the AC wasn’t cold. My husband fiddled with it to make it less hot, though it still wasn’t cold. I mopped the dusty floor and tried to stop the ants with a slightly wet doormat. It didn’t help: while I was out getting food, they climbed onto the bed. My husband went down to ask for ant spray or a broom, since there wasn’t one in the room, only a water scoop. The answer was again that the man didn’t know and would tell someone else. There were also tiny bugs jumping on the pillow, which I first thought were ants but seemed more like fleas. I’ve stayed here four times, so it’s upsetting to see no improvement year after year. Staff should check rooms and clean them before guests arrive, instead of only coming in after someone complains.

The city-center location is the one good thing here. The facilities could be good, but they’re badly neglected. The bathroom was filthy, with a yellow, crusty toilet, lots of hair, and a grimy sink. The fridge stank and was disgustingly dirty, the water jug looked like it hadn’t been refilled in ages, and the floor felt sticky. I asked for the bathroom to be cleaned and waited a long time while the man passed the request to another worker. I finally said I was uncomfortable, and someone came up to clean it. Please manage the place properly, have the owner address this with the staff, and do quality checks. In its current state, it barely deserves to be called an inn.

For the price, it’s really good, and parking is easy. The AC gets cold, the service is good, and there’s a water dispenser in the room. The mattress and pillows do smell a bit, though. I tried other rooms and found the same thing. Edit: I found cockroaches in the room 😭

The place was still listed on Agoda when I arrived, but they said they no longer worked with RedDoorz and told me to request a refund. Sorting out the refund was complicated. The hotel situation was unclear.
