The staff really made this place for me. Christian, the manager, speaks fluent English, and he and the rest of the team were great at keeping guests happy. They also know the area well, which helps when there’s so little tourist information around town. Rooms are sparkling clean and have air conditioning, a TV, and a private bathroom. Most look onto the hallway through a small window, though two rooms at the front have large windows facing the road if you want more daylight. The hotel is new, but work is still happening in and around the building. It’s a bit away from the center, though it’s hard to say exactly where the center of Tanjung Redep is, and you’ll need to walk for food. Still, I thought it was great value and would recommend it.

It’s comfortable here, and the airport is only about four minutes away. There are places for food nearby, and you can get around with Gocar or other online transport. The price is low, and the room service is worth using. Foreign visitors who want a buddy for exploring can contact me.

The hotel is new, clean and comfortable, and I liked the decor. It’s in a residential area rather than the tourist part of town, so it’s quiet at night. The staff were supportive, especially the women at reception. One helped with my bag, shared a speedboat contact for Maratua Island, and booked a Maxim ride for me since I hadn’t set up the app yet. Maxim was cheaper than Grab. I’d planned to stay here again after Derawan on my way to Samarinda, but changed my plans and went to Labuan Cermin from Derawan instead. It’s a nice, clean, quiet place, and I highly recommend it.

My booking through an online marketplace went badly: one reservation was cancelled, so I had to arrange it manually and pay more. The hotel itself is in Tanjung Redep, Berau, East Kalimantan, close to the mosque and several restaurants, which made finding food easy. Parking is spacious, and at about 350k per night, the room and facilities felt worth the price.

The location worked well, easy to reach and just a 10-minute drive from the airport. My room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I had a really nice stay in Berau and would recommend it for work or a leisure trip with loved ones.
