For around 200K Rupiahs, or 150K through Airy Rooms apps, you get a night in a twin or double room with a hot shower, free wifi, cable TV, welcome snacks and drinks. There aren’t many places offering that for the price. It’s less than 2 km from the city center, too. The cleanliness could be better, though. As the old javanese proverb goes, “ono rego ono rupo”: you get what you pay for.

We paid around 300k for two deluxe rooms during the holiday peak, when we didn’t have much choice of hotel. I was surprised by this small hotel: the bed was nice, the bathroom spacious, and there was hot water. A few rooms are near the karaoke and lounge, so it got a little noisy at night. Food places are a bit far away if you don’t have a car or motorcycle. For 300, it wasn’t bad.

The AC wasn’t working well, and the room smelled bad and wasn’t very clean.

Sorry, but the bed and linen weren’t clean, and the toilet was dirty.
