The outside of the hotel buildings may not look that great, but the room was very nice and clean for a 3-star hotel. Breakfast was good, and the swimming pool was both nice and big.

I booked a non-smoking room because smoke affects my medical condition, but guests were smoking freely in the lobby. Staff didn’t really step in, and the smoke drifted into shared areas, making the stay uncomfortable and unhealthy. That undermined the point of booking a non-smoking environment. Breakfast was another disappointment. I saw guests touching buffet food with bare hands without taking or eating it. Hygiene didn’t seem well monitored, and no staff were there to supervise or remind people about proper etiquette. That’s unacceptable when cleanliness should be a priority. Bahari Inn has potential, but it needs stricter rules, better enforcement, and higher hospitality standards for travelers who care about health, cleanliness, and respect. I won’t return. 🙅‍♂️

We stopped here to rest during a road trip from East Java to Jakarta and booked two twin-bed rooms. The hotel has an old building, but it was quite clean and the service was friendly. The rooms had standard amenities, including bathroom items, a kettle with a water heater, and a television. The swimming pool was fairly large and clean, with a guardrail separating the children’s area from the adult area. There was also quite a lot of space for car parking.

This old hotel is a Tegal “Legend,” in a fairly strategic spot, though not quite in the city center. The interior and building are still very well maintained. Rooms were roomy, clean, and smelled good, and the bathroom was in good condition with steady hot water. The pool was also well kept, with clean water that wasn’t too chlorinated or cold. We had breakfast, which was sahur during the fasting month. It was quite good, though some of the chicken was a bit tough for the kids. A good choice for a stopover or a vacation in Tegal 👍🏻👍🏻
