Kenran Resort Ubud by Soscomma Resort

The view was lovely and the room looked nice, but that was about all I liked. At check-in I found a used condom in the bathroom, which is shocking for a resort calling itself five-star. When I tried to order breakfast at 11:00 AM, they said the kitchen had closed and orders had to be in by 10:30, despite the advertised 24-hour food service. The TV was old and only had basic local channels, with no Netflix or streaming apps. I also asked for a late check-out. Staff said they would tell the supervisor, but the next day she said nobody had passed the request on. The service felt careless and nowhere near luxury standards, more like a cheap apartment. Staff acted as if they were doing me a favor. If you come for the view, be ready for the service to spoil the stay. I won't return, and I'd strongly advise travelers to look elsewhere.

The scenery was breathtaking, and the peaceful setting well away from Ubud was lovely. We were surprised to find so few biting bugs despite being up in the rainforest. Our royal maha 2 bedroom suite was spacious, very private, and had its own plunge pool. The two other pools were also available and not crowded. We enjoyed five nights here. The staff were caring and friendly, and both restaurants served delicious food every day. The Indian restaurant had just the right amount of spice. Breakfast came with attentive staff who remembered our coffee and preferred seating. A few guests partied into the early hours and disturbed our sleep. The swim-up pool bar wasn't operating, though no explanation was offered, and we didn't ask about it. We'd definitely visit again 🙏🙏

The view point was spectacular, and the pools were kept clean all the time. Meals were delicious and reasonably priced, with plenty of choices including Indian food. Staff provided quick, efficient customer service and handled problems well. Getting around the resort in buggies made the experience even more enjoyable. Loved it :)

Our Spa and photography experiences were good, and the resort itself is beautiful. We stayed in Akila Villa, which was magnificent, and the Indian restaurant was good too. There were some letdowns: we didn't receive welcome drinks, and cleanliness in the room needed attention. The cutlery was dirty, and the balcony had lots of spider webs that could easily have been cleaned. They also charged separately for every activity, including cycling and yoga, which are generally free at other resorts.
