The detailed Balinese design runs through everything, from the room and bathroom to the pool, and the setting among rice terraces is beautiful. I chose this place for that traditional feel. Rainy season made the stay unsettling, though: I came across snails, lizards, and earthworms. I’d still recommend it in summer, when those encounters might not be an issue, as the place has a lot going for it.

It’s about 15 minutes by scooter from Ubud center, which worked well for me. The wooden furniture in the room could use some upkeep and replacement.
