The Nenggala Suite

We loved sleeping among the rice fields and how peaceful it was at night. The rooms were large and clean, and the staff were hospitable, nice, and did their best to meet our requests. We also used their airport pick-up and drop-off and rented a car with a 12-hour service. The place is beautiful, and we didn't regret choosing it for five days in Bali. The downside was the distance from Ubud, which meant spending a few hours every day traveling back and forth.

The staff are warm and well trained, and we love this place enough to plan another visit for our next vacation. Next time I'll bring my bike so I can explore more of Ubud.

I wonder if I didn't manage to be polite enough with the three women who made up the small service staff. At breakfast on the morning of my overnight stay, the juice and butter condiment served to me plainly had detergent in them. There's a clear difference between a little soap residue from dishes that weren't rinsed well and enough soap that you can smell it and choke when you consume it. To me, that's the difference between an accidental mistake and deliberate intent. I told the owner, and his first response was to question whether my complaint was valid because he had no evidence he could taste himself. I understand he depends on his limited staff to run the hotel, even if that means believing them at the expense of his guest. He said that with no management in place, they were doing the best they could. I do believe him. He offered a complimentary one-day bike rental. I feel a violation like this puts my life, which is priceless, at risk. I left compensation to his judgment, and he felt the free bike rental was enough. I was indifferent, since no compensation could account for the risk I endured. Having some kind of management in place might protect guests from vengeful service staff. This was the most heinous health, safety, and spiritual violation I've experienced at a hotel, and I wish it on no other guest. The whole situation is in God's hands now. May speaking my truth restore balance, peace, and order within myself and the collective. I completely forgive everyone involved and wish all the staff long, healthy lives.

The top-floor view over the rice fields was incredible, and the bathtub was spectacular. Our room was spacious with a super comfortable bed, and the breakfast was very good, with the option to eat in the room. We rented a very cheap scooter from them, too. The staff were friendly and attentive. It's so beautiful here, I'd definitely stay again. 10/10
