Villa Coco

Villa Coco sits in a beautiful area with a partial ocean view. Sue and Dewa were kind and helpful throughout our stay, and Persia the cat is happy to have visitors. Just expect fur on your clothes, so bring a lint remover 😉. The villa is peaceful up in the hills, and could suit a 2-3 night escape if you don't plan to go out much. Thanks 🙏🏼 Getting around was difficult for us. A Grab car won't come to the villa, though a Grab scooter will. We weren't comfortable putting our 8-year-old on the back, and it's not walkable unless you're a seasoned hiker. The stairs down to the villa, and back up again, are extensive. The photo shows only about a third of them, and there's no warning about this. It isn't ideal for older people or anyone with leg or balance problems. There was no bathroom upstairs that we could use, so going to the bedroom level meant heading downstairs. The beds were so hard we bought toppers. The air conditioning sounded like a plane taking off all night, and in the second room there was nowhere to put the toilet paper except the floor. Monkeys also came into the kitchen and took snack food from the counter, which we hadn't been warned about 😭. We had a gas leak because the bottle regulator was broken, and gas smell filled the upstairs rooms. We disconnected the bottle and staff fixed it in the morning. Luckily we smelled it before cooking; otherwise it could have caused an explosion. We also needed a three-hour late checkout and were disappointed to be told it would cost another $10 per hour.
