The furniture and other things are a bit dated. It’s an old hotel, and you can tell it used to be the city’s most premium place, though it isn’t quite that anymore.

The pool is advertised as a major feature, but it closes at 5 every day, so forget about a relaxing swim after a day out exploring. I’ve never seen that kind of rule, and calling this a hotel with a pool feels like false advertising. Check-in was the worst I’ve had in an Indonesian hotel in a long time. The place was run down inside, the experience was unpleasant, and basic items like towels were missing from the room. I’ve had much better service, hospitality, and facilities at cheaper hotels with fewer stars. Not worth it.
