We found the coastal setting peaceful and beautiful, with the green lawn running down to the sea and Mount Agung in the distance. The views are especially lovely at sunrise and sunset. Scuba Seraya Dive & Resort has a quiet, intimate feel, and the lawns and sea views make it a relaxing place to spend time. Staff were consistently warm, responsive, and attentive from arrival to departure, with a personal touch that suits the boutique character of the resort. Some guest rooms could use more careful housekeeping. There were visible spots and uneven cleanliness around the bed, which took away a little from the otherwise refined feel. Better attention to those details would bring the rooms more in line with the setting and service. It’s a peaceful coastal retreat with extraordinary surroundings and heartfelt hospitality, and with some small improvements to room cleanliness, it could offer an even more polished boutique stay.

We stayed one night during a stop in Amed. The property has a relaxing feel, and the layout and lovely bungalows are pleasing to look at. The design gives the place a special charm, and it was a nice spot to unwind and enjoy the scenery for a short visit. It may not be the best accommodation option in the area.

The guest room was a little Spartan, but it felt airy, bright, and charming. The big drawback was the bathroom: tatty, tacky, and a bit unkempt. Amenities were significantly lacking, with too few towels, toilet paper, and tissues. The facilities reminded me of a certain European country famous for shabby bathrooms. I nearly doubled over laughing when I asked the staff where the owner was from and learned it was the same country. My parents live there, so I get it. It is what it is. Still, it’s a great place and we’ll be back. The service team and diving team were fantastic, the facilities were gorgeous, and the grounds were beautiful. Breakfast was simple but very good. The restaurant menu is limited, but everything we had was prepared well. That matters because there’s nothing else nearby, and good food at a fairly reasonable price is important. As a hotelier myself, I wish more people kept the algorithms in mind when posting reviews online. This place deserves the boost.

We stayed at Scuba Seraya Resort for three days and two nights, and the experience was mixed. The shared pool had a pleasant view of the sea and was nice for relaxing, but I didn’t see any signs showing its depth. I think that’s an important safety detail. The resort was generally quiet for sleeping, which we appreciated, though strong waves during tidal movement could get loud and disruptive. Breakfast was good, especially the French toast, and the staff were warm and friendly. In our room, there were stains on the curtains, walls, and pillows, plus marks on the bathroom walls and water spots on the glass. The kettle didn’t look clean, and the water provided looked unclear, so I bought bottled mineral water at a nearby minimarket. There were no trash bins in public areas like the garden or parking area. While my wife was looking for one in the parking area, the owner assumed she was about to litter and spoke unpleasantly, telling her not to throw rubbish there and to take it near the kitchen, then muttering dismissively. She was only trying to find a proper bin and had no intention of littering. A more polite and professional response would have been appreciated. With better cleanliness, clearer facility information, and more courteous interactions with guests, the resort could offer a much better stay.

The view was the one thing that made this trip memorable. We were charged 350K for our 10-year-old kids, which we knew about, but nobody offered an extra bed or even a pillow. The room also wasn't clean, and the service fell short. At check-in, there was barely a visible reception desk or receptionist, and the woman who helped us wasn't useful at all. I didn't feel satisfied enough to stay here again.
