Airy Ubud Monkey Forest Bali

Breakfast overlooking the forest was delicious, and the setting is beautiful. You’re right in central Ubud, close to everything. My wife has stayed at Ubud Bungalows several times, and I joined her this time. As usual, we had an excellent stay. The staff are friendly and ready to help, and the clean, quiet rooms have been updated while keeping their Balinese charm. It’s our first choice when staying in Ubud.

We only needed somewhere for one night, so chose one of the cheapest places we could find and were glad we did. The location is great, and I’d happily stay again for a night or two. The large room was spotless, though its only windows were narrow ones up near the ceiling. The aircon was powerful, the shower was good, and the firm bed was clean and comfortable. It’s a two star place, so don’t expect things like a TV.

The free breakfast in the morning was nice, and they even had activity ideas on the back of the menu. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the rooms felt new and were super clean. It’s in a good spot near restaurants and not too far from Ubud markets. Had a wonderful stay.

Our stay at Ubud Terraces was a mess. We’d booked Superior Double Rooms with extra-large double beds well ahead of time, but those confirmed bookings weren’t honoured. We got smaller queen-bed rooms that didn’t match what we’d paid for, and our four rooms were spread across different parts of the property even though we’d asked for adjoining rooms. The rooms were dirty and poorly maintained, with mosquitoes and even lizards. It seemed like there was only one staff member working, and they looked overworked and unable to help. The owner had given away our original rooms, showed no remorse, and was arrogant and unapologetic about it. She took no responsibility for ruining our stay. The photos online are highly misleading, and the whole place felt unhygienic, mismanaged and utterly unprofessional. It seemed clear that guest comfort and hospitality weren’t a concern. Save yourself the trouble, there are far better and more honest places in Ubud that deliver what they promise.
