Amel Homestay

A central little guesthouse, but set on a quiet street, so you don’t get the nonstop motorbike noise you’d hear beside the main road. We slept well. The rooms are a good size, there’s a hot-water shower, and breakfast was delicious, with more interesting choices than the usual fare elsewhere. Highly recommended.

We extended our stay because this little place was gorgeous for the price. The rooms stayed cool and had hot showers, and they were cleaned perfectly every day. Tea and coffee were always topped up, and breakfast was lovely each morning. The family were so nice and invited us to the crematorium in the local village. I’d definitely stay again.

There was a kettle in the room, and the aircon worked well. The rooms were quiet despite being off a busy road, spotless, and cleaned daily by the owners. Beds were very comfortable and the sheets clean. Breakfast came with hot water and a bowl of fruit, and it was different each day. The only downside was the drinking water: we got one jug on arrival and no more. Refills cost 5k from a barrel beside the rooms, but it was covered in thick green moss and didn’t look clean, so we didn’t risk drinking from it.

The rooms were really comfortable, clean, and quiet, and breakfast was delicious and different every day. The owner brought it up to the terrace. I took a star off because the owners kept trying to sell us things at inflated prices each morning when they delivered breakfast.
