I came back after about 10 years and I'm glad the resort has grown without the quality changing. The people working in BAV were helpful, smiley, and spoke English. I had a wonderful massage with Ibu Ilu, and there are two lovely pools for a refreshing dip or just sitting and thinking. My suite was spacious and full of natural light, with a very comfortable bed that had me sleeping like a kid. And the bathtub was a game changer after winter in Poland. The villas and apartments are beautiful, and the Rice Fields are close by for a walk. I didn't need anything more.

I've stayed here twice now. It's a quiet hidden gem with attentive staff, a good breakfast, and plenty of choices. There are three pools, plus various activities you can arrange in-house. The rooms are clean, fresh, and neither damp nor moldy, though a bit of maintenance would make them better.

The staff gave lovely service and were great, but most of our stay was negative. Wi-Fi was unusable, so I couldn't get work done. The rooms felt very dated and unclean, especially the bathroom, which was the worst I've stayed in. The window wouldn't close properly, there were stains, and the mosquito net and pool areas felt dirty too. My partner also got very sick after eating soup from the restaurant.

From outside, the hotel looks lovely and premium. Inside, the bathroom area is large, but there's no proper ventilation or exhaust fan.

It's calm and peaceful inside the property, and the room and service were both perfect. The linens and room were clean, and breakfast was good. Ubud market is only 5-10 minutes away. There weren't many lunch or dinner options, and they weren't great, but manageable if you can't go out for food. Highly recommend staying here.
