Bumi Muwa Ubud

A really nice property right in the heart of Ubud, with a beautiful garden, pool, and rooms with balconies. Keep your things put away, though, unless you want the monkeys to take them!

There are monkeys in the garden in the morning, and sometimes they come onto your terrace, so don't leave your belongings outside. The hotel is cozy and quiet, with spacious, comfortable rooms near Monkey Forest and plenty of restaurants and cafes. Staff are kind and helpful, always ready to assist, and make an excellent breakfast. I definitely recommend it.

The pool is my favorite part: it's super clean and relaxing, and you can watch monkeys playing nearby while you swim. It's right beside Monkey Forest, which gives it a fun Ubud feel. This was my second stay at Buwi Muwa, and it still makes my Ubud trips comfortable. The rooms are simple but cozy. Somehow I keep getting one with an air conditioner that drips a little water, lol, but it's no big deal. Big thanks to Ayu for being friendly and helpful every time. Definitely one of my regular spots in Ubud.

The big garden made the place feel like a jungle, and the pool looked clean, though we never had time to swim. We had monkeys visit the hotel and our balcony. Staff gave us advice on dealing with them: don't look them in the eye, don't leave things outside, and lock the balcony properly. There are also lots of bugs and insects coming into the room from outside. A small gap in the door worried us because we thought we might get bitten, but thankfully we didn't. The location was great, with cafes, restaurants, markets, and spas all around, close to the center and only about five minutes away by scooter. It's also near Monkey Forest. Finding the hotel signs took some looking. Breakfast was SUPER, with choices from omelets to fried noodles. I recommend the mi gorang, it was tasty.
