The biggest drawback was the bathroom water pressure. It was very low, and after a spa day at Bodywork’s Ubud, I was relieved to get a shower with good pressure. I’d also have liked a hair dryer and kettle in the room. Given the extremely low price, I wasn’t expecting a TV. I stayed a week at Ubud Sensasi Bungalows and was pleasantly surprised after worrying about some critical reviews. My superior room was very spacious, the bed was extremely comfortable, and the balcony had a beautiful sunset view. The air conditioning kept things at a good temperature in the heat. The accommodation is outdated, but to me that added traditional charm. I also saw what looked like renovation work during the day, so I think they’re trying to improve it. It felt like staying in a family home rather than an average hotel, which added to the Balinese charm. The family were very friendly, cleaned daily, helped with my luggage, and asked about my day. Their children are lovely. The dogs can be yappy, but they’re very cute and friendly, always wagging their tails when they saw me. WiFi worked reliably throughout, even during a 2 day storm. The location is right in central Ubud, near the sacred monkey forest, with shops, bars, and restaurants nearby. I’m giving it 4 stars for the low water pressure, but it was a charming stay and I’ll choose it again when I return to Ubud next year. Thanks for a lovely stay.

I got a little scared after booking through a travel site and then reading some reviews here, but my stay went well. It’s a decent, no-frills hotel in a great location. The room was nice, the linens were clean, the AC worked, and the staff were friendly.

The bed was really comfortable, the AC worked perfectly, and the pool was extremely clean. My boyfriend and I stayed four nights, and for such an affordable price right in the heart of Ubud, it was perfect. The rooms are a bit outdated and the WiFi was a little dodgy, but that didn’t interrupt our stay. We’d definitely stay here again if we came back to Ubud.

The garden and pool were decent, but the room was a nightmare, so I left early and wouldn’t recommend staying here. There was a disgusting rusty sewage smell from the bathroom, the bath was filthy, the water pressure was nonexistent, and the toilet seat wasn’t properly attached. The bed was just as bad. The old, stained linens wouldn’t stay put because they didn’t fit, and they didn’t feel clean. The mattress springs poked through uncomfortably. The AC had no temperature control, so it was either freezing or off. Spiders were visible in most corners, and there was no fridge in the room. This is far from what I’d expect of a 3-star hotel. Not even worth 2 stars.

The aircon was broken, and the toilet was dirty and smelly. Check-out was supposed to be before 12 pm, but I was made to leave before 11 am.
