Darba Guest House Ubud

We spent four nights here and had a lovely stay. It was spotless, there were no insects, and the breakfast was really delicious. The host was very kind and polite. Restaurants and massage places are close by, yet the area stays quiet and peaceful. We’d happily stay again on our next trip to Ubud. Don’t miss this place!

The staff were genuinely kind throughout my stay, and this is a very affordable guest house. It’s a basic place, so three stars feels right to me. When I arrived, there were a few bugs in the room, including a dead one hanging from the ceiling that never got cleaned up. There was a small gap under the sliding doors, and I plugged it with towels to stop ants coming in. I’d often see them outside in the morning. You reach the property by walking down a narrow alley from the main road, which wasn’t clear in the photos. The main street in Ubud is about a 15-minute walk downhill. Coming back at night felt uncomfortable: the road was dark and quiet, with stray dogs around, and I couldn’t tell if they were friendly. Breakfast is included for free, but it’s very basic, mostly eggs and toast. It’s decent if you’re on a tight budget, but I probably wouldn’t stay again. It wasn’t bad, I just prefer a bit more comfort or something more premium.

The peaceful little street puts this place in a secluded spot right in central Ubud. Mr Darba and his crew were fantastic. Our room was spacious, with a closet and a good-sized bathroom, and the beds were really comfy. Breakfast was delicious. They knew it was my birthday and left a lovely detail on the bed 🥰 I’ll definitely come back.

Mr Darba was so friendly, helpful, and always up for a laugh. On our last day, while Mum and I waited for our taxi to the next destination, he brought us coconut water. The room was lovely, clean and tidy, and the food was abundant and delicious. It gave us plenty of energy for walking around the city and going on day trips to enjoy Bali’s landscapes and activities. I’d absolutely recommend Darba Guest House to friends, family, and anyone wanting a quiet, respectful place. Thanks so much, Mf Darba. Hope to visit again!
