The people here are just lovely, and the team does everything they can for you. Breakfast at the restaurant was superb every day. We also had a massage that was beyond her, and took a cooking class with lunch included, which was so much fun. I stayed here eight years ago, and I’m not waiting another eight years to book again. It’s superb.

We first came to Hotel Ibah for dinner last year and already knew we wanted to return as guests. This time we stayed for 12 nights, and it was a truly special experience that met our expectations. The place has its own character and charm. The staff’s warm approach and the peaceful atmosphere made us feel genuinely comfortable. A few small details surprised us, but the many stronger qualities made it easy to overlook them. Ibah has become a heartfelt place for us, with a character that’s hard to find elsewhere.

The pool is lovely, with little caves built into the walls where you can lounge. There are also massage and facial services that were professional and well priced, plus theme nights like jazz with an amazing trio. The staff are exceptional at bringing you what you need before you ask, and get to know you if you take time to chat. Each villa has huge rooms with beautiful views and large outdoor rooms. The style is traditional Balinese, with high ceilings, wood, cotton and other natural materials, and no plastic. The huge four-poster beds have traditional mosquito nets. There are fewer than 20 rooms, which helps make for a quiet, relaxing five-star stay. There are quite a few steps up to the villas and around the resort, so we got our steps in. Ibah sits at the junction of two rivers, an oasis within easy walking distance of the great restaurants in the main village, across the river, and the Campuhan Ridge Walk. The location is stunning. The resort is only 35 years old, but with its stone features and mature gardens it looks like it’s been here for hundreds. We believe it’s owned by Balinese royalty. Ibah really was what we imagined Bali luxury to be like.

The resort made a lovely base for exploring Ubud. It’s an easy walk to the center, major attractions, good restaurants, and the market, while sitting just beyond the busiest area, away from its noise, traffic, and dust. Our tour driver could pick us up without getting caught in downtown traffic. One day we walked the Campuhan Ridge Walk, came back for a refreshing shower, then headed into town for the evening. It worked well for days spent visiting rice terraces, waterfalls, or scenic trails and evenings strolling around Ubud. The property itself felt like paradise, surrounded by lush trees and flowers, with beautiful garden paths. The shower and dining facilities were modern, clean, and comfortable. The website photos and other travelers’ pictures matched what we found. Our suite was tucked behind a secluded garden, reached by a forest path lined with statues. We often relaxed on the patio couch overlooking the garden, and the bedroom’s classic design felt elegant, almost royal, while still serene. Our room was kept spotless, and although we were surrounded by nature, we didn’t get bitten by mosquitoes. There are massage services and two beautiful pools for relaxing after a day out. Breakfast came with our stay, had plenty of options, and was consistently satisfying. We spent December 24-27, 2025 at Ibah Ubud and enjoyed every part of it. It exceeded our expectations, and we’d absolutely stay again and recommend it to anyone wanting a peaceful, beautiful place in a convenient location.

We stayed in one of the treetop rooms and loved the balcony overlooking the river. You could see and hear the birds, and on our final morning it rained, but I was still able to do yoga on the balcony without getting wet. The restaurant is open from 7am to 10pm, and they serve complimentary afternoon tea from 3:30 to 4:30pm. The property is about a 10-minute walk uphill, almost faster than a car can manage, and it’s a great starting point for the Campuang ridge walk. The grounds are beautiful, with moss-covered stone walls and everything in bloom. The staff are kind and helpful, always happy to answer questions or assist. It’s owned by the Ubud royal family, and staying there made us feel like royalty. This place is magical, and I thoroughly recommend it.
