The staff were extremely friendly and genuinely tried to help with anything I asked. But for this price, I think there are much better places to stay. The location is very central, with restaurants and tourist spots 15-30 minutes away by scooter. The pool wasn't usable. It was poorly maintained and looked nothing like the photos. The hotel had an unusually unpleasant smell, beyond the humidity you generally get in Bali. Towels were old and had holes, and the bedsheets were stained. That's common in Bali, but still not acceptable. My room faced a rice field, and the view was beautiful, but the noise was a major issue: you could hear everything from the next room, housekeeping dragging furniture at 7 AM, and doors being slammed or pulled at night. They said my plan included breakfast but didn't provide it. I emailed them and never got a reply. I wasn't satisfied with the stay and wouldn't choose this place again.

The room I got was spacious and nicely decorated, and the hotel upgraded me to a bigger one for free during my five-night stay. The sheets were old and a little discolored, but definitely clean, and it didn't bother me. My only real suggestion is to improve the room lighting, which could feel a bit dim. The rooms were as advertised, as was the beautiful pool, and a rice field just outside added charm. Staff were especially kind, welcoming, and hospitable. You choose breakfast the night before, so the options are limited, but it's delicious and filling. The hotel is a bit beyond the outskirts of central Ubud, so getting around takes a while. There's a convenient mart just two buildings away. I'd recommend Bumi Muwa if you're on a tighter budget and want a good experience. It's great value.

The staff were the hotel's best feature. They always greeted me with a smile, asked how my day went and what I'd been doing, and tried to handle any request right away. I enjoyed my stay, though I probably wouldn't return because of the noise inside the room. Bumi Muwa sits among rice paddies, with easy access to the center by Grab, Gojek, or scooter. Several restaurants are within walking distance, and there's a minimart next door. The busy road out front makes a lot of noise. My deluxe room was on the top floor, spacious, with a large bathroom and balcony. The carved headboard was especially beautiful. From a distance everything looked nice, but up close the room needed a deep clean and some updating. There was soap scum on the bathroom tiles, a musty smell, and a roof leak above the door after two days of rain. The AC sometimes leaked into my suitcase. The towels had seen better days and smelled quickly in the humidity, so they should be replaced daily. I'd been advised against staying in central Ubud on my first visit, which is how I ended up here for a few days. As a light sleeper, I struggled with the lack of soundproofing. I could hear traffic, dogs next door, chickens and roosters, and neighbors moving furniture at 11 PM. I didn't sleep very well.

I stayed for 20 nights and loved having a quiet spot away from heavy traffic, narrow streets, and loud, fast-paced places. The rooms were quite spacious, and the place felt cozy without being crowded. The service was wonderful, and the staff were helpful and agreeable. Thanks for the warm welcome!

Friendly staff and spacious rooms, though there was a little humidity damage. A convenience store is a one-minute walk away, and Ubud Palace is about 10 minutes from here.
