Indraprastha 2 Bungalow

The family went out of their way to make me feel at home, and the place is close to all amenities. My room was large, airy, very clean, and quiet, away from the main street. It had a ceiling fan, an ensuite, and a balcony with a view of green fields and lots of trees. A few clothes hangers would be useful. The bathroom was clean but a bit old and shabby. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would recommend it without hesitation.

The location was good, the staff really friendly, and the WiFi worked well enough for Zoom calls. I stayed two nights, but the bathroom was one of the worst I’ve come across. Its door wouldn’t stay closed, though that didn’t bother me much since I was alone. The facilities were so old and rusty that I didn’t feel clean even after a shower. I didn’t have breakfast, so I can’t comment on it. Google Maps sends you to the school next door, but the place is behind it, so you have to walk around.

I came for 10 days and somehow ended up staying three months. It’s right in the centre of Ubud, but peaceful and quiet, with no roosters. The rooms are nice and large, and from my main window and balcony I get beautiful views. The staff are great, so friendly and genuine. I love this place.

The worst part for me was the bathroom. The shower didn’t look very hygienic, and they only left towel swans on the bed, with no soap or shower gel in the bathroom. I stayed four nights in December, which was rather off-season, and was given a big upstairs room with a double bed and a single. Both beds were very comfortable and the sheets were clean. There was no AC, but the ceiling fan was enough to sleep at night. The school next door could make sleeping late in the morning difficult. Breakfast had three choices. You could choose from the menu card in your room by going downstairs between 8am-10pm, and they brought it to your balcony. The scrambled eggs and omelettes came with carrots, which I didn’t like, but you could politely ask for them plain. They came with fresh fruit and your choice of coffee or tea. They cleaned my room after I’d told them not to. I hope I hadn’t left anything personal like my laptop or money. It was disturbing, though maybe they didn’t understand me and didn’t do it on purpose. I arrived late at night and the receptionist was there to welcome me and carry my luggage. Good location and fair price. So nostalgic!
