I was excited about this stay after doing lots of research before coming to Bali for my birthday. It turned out to be the absolute worst decision. The first two days were okay, and I brushed off minor things like slow internet, mosquitoes, and water temperature. After that, the problems kept going and became unbearable. I was fine with the villa’s partly open design, especially after a great and safe stay at Avana Bamboo Villa in the jungle. But the bedroom door wasn’t secure or sealed properly to keep out bugs, ants, and geckos, and I genuinely couldn’t sleep. Cracks and an inefficient mini split AC meant neither of the two rooms stayed comfortable. Staff hired by the host tried to fix the AC, but it still couldn’t cool the room. There were large gaps around the sliding entrance door too, big enough for pool towels to fit through. Geckos and other insects came in, and we had to use the towels to keep them out. Photos show the gaps. The staff hired by the host didn’t offer a suitable fix when I raised this. The host never contacted me directly or visited the villa, and no alternative room was offered. They had no sealant for the other cracks, and when asked why, said it was too expensive. They also said they’d refund one night, but never did. Instead, they gave a mediocre apology and offered a free taxi shuttle to my next hotel, worth $20 on Grab, only to try to stop me from sharing this in a review.

I’ve stayed at Om Kara Villa for the second time now 😁🙏🏻. Excellent service, really friendly staff, and a comfortable place for families. Recommended 😍👍🏻🔥🔥🔥
