The room was spacious, with a wardrobe, work desk and fridge, and coffee and tea ready there. I especially liked the semi-open toilet and shower, with a great shower head and water pressure. Breakfast was delicious, and the owner cooks something different every day. The owner was really nice and helpful, and the staff were friendly. I loved the whole stay. One small thing to know: if you’re sensitive to noise, loud guests might be difficult since you can hear your surroundings and nature. Ubud is tropical, so little animals may wander around. That’s completely normal.

The owners were welcoming and very friendly, and they answered all my questions with real helpfulness. Cucu House is set within their family temple, which gives the stay a traditional Balinese feel. My room was modern and very clean, and the outdoor bathroom looked lovely, with a hot shower. There’s a shared kitchen beside it. You’re in a quiet part of Ubud rather than the center, with some nice cafés and restaurants nearby. Campuhan Ridge Walk is also within walking distance.

Breakfast was delicious and felt well worth the price. The bedroom was spacious, clean, and nice, with a semi-outdoor bathroom. My only issue was that the wooden bedroom door wouldn't shut tightly.

Kadek made our stay memorable, and we'd happily return to CuCu house next time we're in Ubud. It's a lovely four-room guesthouse in Penestanan, a good choice if you want to get away from Ubud's busy streets. The rooms are roomy, with AC, a ceiling fan, and a kettle, plus a large Bali-style open bathroom and a very hot rain shower. Guests can use a kitchen with a fridge and gas cooker. There are two kitchens for the four rooms, so we never had trouble finding fridge space or waiting to cook.

I stayed for 22 nights and would definitely come back. The room was clean, with a big bed, fan, and aircon, and the large open bathroom was great. The owner was friendly and breakfast was delicious. I enjoyed my stay, and everything went beyond what I expected.
