Kakiang Bungalow

Really liked it! The rooms are great, especially the villas and premiere rooms. The food and baked goods were good too. Their restaurant and bakery are right at the front of the bungalows, beside the main road.

We stayed in a suite at kakiang in June 2019. The location worked well for our family, with restaurants, massage places, and a supermarket all within a two-minute walk. The food, pool, and rooms were amazing. They also arranged a cake and decorated for a birthday surprise 😊

This was a really frustrating and farcical experience. I was visiting a friend when we were threatened by a gang across the street. I asked the receptionist to call the police, but got very little help. I had to find and provide the local station's number, which cost me $10 in phone data. At first she refused to call, and then couldn't explain the situation to the police or confirm if they were coming. I had to be told to call four times before any officers arrived. When they did, she couldn't contact the room, then asked me to leave the hotel with the police. That was the last straw, so I insisted they sit in the lobby instead. I don't know what the cultural norm is in Indonesia, but in most hotels, telling staff that a man across the street says he's going to kill you would prompt a more determined response. Hotel security and the manager helped the receptionist throughout the night, so this wasn't just a lack of seniority. We felt badly let down, and I'd like to see the hotel improve its customer service in situations like this.

Easy to get around from here, even on foot. The place was comfortable and quiet, and I enjoyed my stay. The bed was a little hard, though.
