Karma House Ubud

For a budget stay, the room was cleaner and more comfortable than I expected. Breakfast was simple, but really tasty, and you could tell care had gone into it. I was surprised by how good the place was for the price, and I’d happily stay again.

Paying is done at the property after booking online. When I was there, they couldn’t take payment online, but cash and cards were accepted. Karma house is right in central Ubud, with attractions close by, and the owner is friendly and speaks clear, very good English. My stay was comfortable and good value. There’s nothing fancy or luxurious, but it has what you need to be comfortable, and you get what you pay for. I liked my stay and would recommend it for the location and price.

We ate our delicious free breakfast on the private terrace. There was a menu to choose from, and everything we tried tasted good. The room was spacious, clean, and lovely, with cool A/C and great Wi-Fi. Even though it’s in central Ubud, the place sits off the main street, so it was quiet with no noise issues. The stay was perfect, and the price was great.

We spent five nights at Karma House and felt like we were staying with the host, children, and grandparents. Our balcony room was the best one in the house, so ask for it if you can. The windows looked out on jungle from three sides, and it was a great place to work remotely. Central Ubud was easy to reach without having to stay amid the bustle. The place was generally clean, and the free breakfast service was great. The doors and taps wobble, though, and the Wi-Fi was slow on the balcony. Parking a motorbike could also be tricky because the entrance opens onto a steep slope.
