Nicks pension is my favorite place to stay in Ubud. It feels like home after all these years of coming back. The gardens are incredible, and sitting outside on the porch is so peaceful. You’re right in the heart of Ubud, with easy access to monkey forest Street and all the action. The staff are the best, so kind and caring, always smiling and ready to do anything for you. The rooms are basic, but very clean and comfortable, and great value for money.
My mother and I had a wonderful time here. The setting is gorgeous and feels completely cut off from the rest of the world. I highly recommend it if you’re in Ubud.
The service and location were great, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. They replaced the pillows quickly when I pointed out the black mold covering them. But the room was quite moldy, and finding those pillows on the bed in the first place pretty much ruined my stay. See the attached pictures.
The hotel grounds are spacious, and its location is excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, my room was neither especially clean nor very modern.
I spent about three nights at Nick’s Pension and really liked my stay. The room was basic and could use some renovation, but it had what I needed: working air-conditioning, a fan, a hot shower, and a comfortable bed. It was all the way down near the river, so the balcony looked out over the forest and water. Breakfast had a good range of Indonesian and continental choices. The location is handy for Ubud’s main attractions, but the area itself is calmer and away from noise and traffic. There’s also an ATM and supermarket nearby. A solid place to stay.
