Ketut's Place Bed & Breakfast Ubud

Our Balinese cottage had lovely carvings and was tucked among lots of plants. It was clean, and the aircon worked great. When the airport lost our bags, the staff were really helpful while we tried to get them back. The only thing I’d skip is breakfast. We went out to eat afterwards.

We’ve loved staying here. The atmosphere is peaceful, the amenities are clean, and the staff are genuinely kind and welcoming. It feels like a tucked-away B&B in central Ubud, with Balinese culture all around. Everything in Ubud Centre is walkable, and Ketut can also arrange an affordable local driver. Breakfast is included each day, and the front desk can set up day trips, on-site massages, and the Kekak fire dance on Sunday or Thursday. You’ll see the odd gecko or other little critter, but that comes with being in nature in Indonesia. I’m grateful my first Bali trip brought me here. It’s been a pleasure, and we’ll be back. I’d happily recommend it to people I know.

The staff were kind and did their best to help when we needed to move rooms, but the rooms themselves were a letdown. There was a problem with our first room, so we were sent to another site, which was a shame since we’d chosen the place for its location. When we came back the next day, the room we got was much smaller than the one shown in the booking photos. It had a broken mosquito net, cobwebs and bugs, and several bare windows that let in too much light in the morning. We asked to move again and spent our last two nights in a third room, which was still dusty, cobwebby, and smelled damp. Breakfast also came 30 minutes after the time we’d picked. The location worked well for sightseeing, and the staff were very kind, but the place felt rough around the edges.

The family who own Ketut’s place were so nice. We spent three nights there on our first stop in Bali, and it felt quiet and welcoming.
