Mangkun Villa Ubud 2

More than €800 in cash and a watch were taken from our locked room. The staff denied it, but they were the only people with access to the rooms, which were locked. During our Mount Batur trip, while the villa manager knew our schedule, someone most likely entered the rooms and stole our belongings. One friend stayed at the villa with his partner, and the manager tried to enter his room while they were inside. That’s completely unacceptable. The owner denied the incident, refused responsibility and compensation, and made us feel like liars. This was a very disappointing and unsafe experience. I strongly don’t recommend this villa. Be extremely cautious with your valuables and the stage.

The staff were lovely, but the accommodation didn’t match its description. Mould covered most surfaces and the smell was everywhere. Look behind any cushion and you’ll find mould. The steep me staircase is dangerous, and we didn’t feel safe leaving the children to sleep downstairs because the premises isn’t secure. The bathrooms were mouldy, the shower heads were nearly all broken, and the smell in there was unbearable. The power also failed often, so we had to call staff to fix it. The worst part was the owner, Jimmy. He wasn’t upfront about charges. The booking.com description said most transport was covered, then we were surprised with a large bill. He preferred cash, quoted an exorbitant fee for paying by card, then said the eftpos machine was broken and wanted a wise transfer. I wouldn’t stay here again.

We had a really great time at this villa in Ubud. The staff were friendly and always ready to help. Gusti drove us around Ubud for a perfect day, and Kadek organized everything we needed for the rest of our trip. A big thank you to her, her smile and sense of service were exceptional. Suksma 🙏🏽

We had a lovely stay in this villa. The views, terrace, and pool were great, and it had all the comforts we needed. The staff were so nice, especially Gusti, who helped arrange massages and tours and was always cheerful. I’d recommend it to anyone.
