MATHIS Retreat Ubud

We loved how easy it was to get into Ubud center with the complimentary shuttle, then return to the hotel's quiet natural surroundings. It's a great place to relax away from the city's bustle. The staff welcomed us warmly and were consistently friendly, helpful, and caring. The food was delicious, especially breakfast, which was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Everything exceeded our expectations. We'd happily return and highly recommend Mathis Retreat for a relaxing stay.

The people made our stay especially nice. Everyone was welcoming, professional, and attentive, and Bintang and Nisa were particularly kind. We'd gladly return to Mathis Ubud and recommend it to anyone wanting a relaxing stay. Our room was comfortable and had a lovely feel, with the peaceful nature around us adding to the calm atmosphere. The hotel itself is beautiful and tranquil. Breakfast was a pleasure each morning, with plenty of fresh, high-quality choices, all delicious and nicely presented.

The staff were so friendly and welcoming, always greeting us with a smile, and easy to talk to. We also loved the hotel ducks and cats, they're super cute. We booked a garden-facing room. Even during rainy season, we didn't have problems with bugs or mosquitoes. The room layouts seem more suited to couples, which is something families should keep in mind. The menu was great, with vegetarian food clearly catalogued, and Terracotta restaurant had a lovely ambience. We had a really pleasant stay at Mathis Retreat and would definitely recommend it.

The pool looks out over the rice paddies, and the staff were really friendly and easy to communicate with in English. The bathroom had a slightly musty smell, and breakfast could use some work on the taste. For this price range, though, it’s a lovely resort.
