I spent almost a whole year here and felt at home in the compound, surrounded by the care and support of my Balinese family who own the place. My house looked out over the river and jungle, which made it feel peaceful and cozy. Nights were quiet, with no pollution and lots of fireflies; in the morning there were beautiful birds at sunrise. If you meditate or work remotely and don't need the buzz of Ubud Centre, I highly recommend it. I slept really well, too. Thank you, Praba family, for making space for me ❤️🙏🏻🌟

We had a comfortable house by the river, with a good bed, plenty of room for two, a nice bathroom and a covered outdoor kitchen. The owners supplied internet, water and cooking gas, and kept everything thoroughly clean on a regular basis. We’re grateful for all the help from the host family. Matur Suksma! My wife and I loved our stay at Praba house. It’s a peaceful, welcoming spot in the jungle, and the family is kind, helpful at any hour, and speaks pretty good English. They can also lend you special clothes for village ceremonies, which you can experience here. There are grocery, fruit and vegetable shops, gyms and warungs nearby. Walk through the village to nearby rice fields for a lovely sunset. Everyone we met was friendly and smiling.

The host family were generous with their time and made us feel welcome, including inviting us to eat with them and helping us join cultural events. They’re happy to share what they know about Balinese culture if you’re interested in learning. Each booking gets its own Balinese-style bungalow with a kitchen and yard. There’s a waterfall just a few steps away, and you can hear the water at night. The property is in a neighborhood with few tourists, so you get a glimpse of local life, and the neighbors are extremely kind and helpful. A great choice for an authentic Bali experience. Can’t recommend it enough.
