Gigimas Private Villa

The owner refused to address the problem, saying the room was non-refundable. I wouldn't recommend this villa. The cleanliness and customer service were deeply disappointing. When we arrived, the sheets had several stains that looked like blood or other bodily fluids. I told the staff right away and asked for fresh sheets. They asked whether it was okay to wait until the next day. I explained that my partner wouldn't sleep on stained bedding, and was assured it would be changed while we were out. We got back late that night to find the same stains, hair in the bed, and a snail on the ceiling. Even though we'd checked in 10 hours earlier, the sheets still hadn't been changed by 11 PM.

The room smelled musty as soon as I walked in, and I found mould growing on the walls. The sheets were visibly dirty, with stains and what looked like hair from previous guests. They clearly hadn't been changed or cleaned properly, and I couldn't make myself sleep on them. When I complained, the staff were dismissive and unhelpful. The poor hygiene made the stay extremely uncomfortable. This was incredibly disappointing, and I wouldn't recommend the hotel to anyone. Avoid it.

The villa is beautiful, peaceful, and has a clean pool and a good bed. The pillows were too hard for me, though, and there can be noise if a neighboring villa is loud. Otherwise, I had a calm stay without disturbance. The staff and owner were helpful. I liked the architecture throughout the unit, but the living hall has no A/C and gets mosquitoes at night. I expected to find the place boring because it's not close to Ubud Central, Bali, but changed my mind once I arrived. It's about a 10-minute drive to Ubud Central. Local food is available, though sellers might rip you off. If you aren't going out, you can use gojek or grab to find food. It's a good fit if you want somewhere quieter. If you want to be closer to Western food, services, and Ubud Palace, I'd stay near Ubud Palace or Museum Blanco. Services at Gigimas Villa include bike rental for 100000 per day, laundry, breakfast, food, airport transfer, and a private driver. I didn't try the breakfast. The food tasted ok. The bikes need improvement in quality, and I suggest sticking with Bikago.

It was quiet and away from the crowds, and getting to central Ubud took only 10 minutes. At first I thought it was far from the center, but the place turned out to be very comfortable. I really want to stay here again.
